Welcome to Trinity Church! We are a congregation of people who are committed to Jesus Christ; patterning our lives after Him, and doing the work that He has asked us to do.
TYPICAL AND ATYPICAL THINGS ABOUT TRINITY CHURCH Although we subscribe to no particular creed, our beliefs are thoroughly orthodox, as our name implies. Sermons are straight from the Bible and applied to our daily lives. Our worship is traditional but is distinct in its relaxed atmosphere and freer flow of prayer. Our music is a combination of thoughtfully chosen hymns, along with music from the heart. Members are encouraged to take part in reading scripture, praying, reflecting, and friendship in worship. We are an interdenominational body of believers, but our pastor is an ordained Baptist. We do not claim to be either conservative or liberal, but rather try to conserve what is important and liberate ourselves from what is not. Our practice is a hybrid of the various Christian traditions of our people. THIS IS OUR MESSAGE We believe that it is God's desire for all people everywhere to know him and to experience His incomparable love. He welcomes all people into relationship with Him. Certainly, all people are welcome to worship wih us. We believe that His desire is for all people to know Jesus and to accept the gift of Life that he alone can give...the only life free from sin and death, enjoyed now and forever. Jesus freely gave his life for all and was raised from the dead. All believers are free to celebrate this truth in communion and fellowship with us. We believe that Jesus has made the extaordinary life possible by sending the Holy Spirit to be with us, to guide us every step of the way. The Holy Spirit empowers all Christians - all races and nationalities, male and female, rich and poor, old and young - with no preference or priority whatsoever. This is proof that the Kingdom of God stands apart from all human institutions. All Christians are given unique Spiritual abilities to accomplish the work of Christ. We believe that the Church is called and equipped to love God with all that we are, and to love others with the same regard that we have for ourselves.

We believe that Jesus shows us "how to live whole, functional lives in a dysfunctional world." (Richard Foster) Want to join us in learning to live the "good life" as defined by and created by God? Join us! 9:30 Sunday mornings for Sunday school, 10:30 Sunday worship, Tuesday Bible study at noon, first Sundays afternoon book club
Just what we were talking about Sunday! Life in the kingdom of God (specifically placing our speaking under God’s control) makes us vulnerable in many ways because we refuse to use words as weapons to manipulate, wound, control. Can we move in this Christward direction? Do we trust God enough or will we only trust in our own strength (of words)?
O LORD... Help me to keep in mind that your whole creation is groaning in labor pains as we wait for the revealing of the children of God [that is, for humanity to be re-formed and restored to the image/character of our Heavenly Father]; and let me welcome every influence of your Spirit upon my spirit that may make this happen the more speedily. When you knock on the door of my heart, may I never keep you standing outside, but welcome you in with joy and thanksgiving. May I never harbor anything in my heart that I would be ashamed of in your presence; may I never keep a single corner closed to your influence. Do what you will with me, O God; make of me what you will, change me as you will, and use me as you will, both now and in the larger life beyond; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen (From A DIARY OF PRIVATE PRAYER by John Baillie)

Part of today's lesson--- "It is with the unforced confidence that characterizes those who walk in the company of Christ, that Peter says to the sufferer: 'I have no silver or gold, but what I have I give you; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, stand up and walk'." #TrevorHudson on the power of WORDS to impart spiritual power for either good or evil, from DISCOVERING OUR SPIRITUAL IDENTITY #renovare #spiritualformation #discipleship #trinitychurchofgreenville
Our Present Teacher 💕🙏
We believe Jesus is the ultimate guide to living well... in Sunday school this week we will begin a new chapter about the power God has placed in our hands to use WORDS to impart love and blessing. Just as we learned in the last chapter how to let God rule and control our use of wealth, we will now learn how to let God be the master of our communication. Please join us in the spirit of a disciple, as we learn from the Master of Life how to transfer more and more of our words (spoken and written) into the Kingdom of God's perfect will. #TrevorHudson #DiscoveringOurSpiritualIdentity #Trinitychurchofgreenville #spiritualformation
Our local gathering of the Renovaré Book Club is starting a new book! Join us in reading The Cloud of Unknowing. Our next meeting is March 3. #renovarebookclub #spiritualformation #yeahthatgreenville
Great podcast on discernment and the REAL purpose of receiving guidance from God. https://renovare.org/podcast/is-that-god-evan-howard
Today, no less than in Jesus’ day, we Christians deeply and inescapably feel the call to follow the Lord [...] But this is very hard to believe or even take seriously without Christ’s physical presence here to reassure and guide us. How can ordinary human beings such as you and I – who must live in circumstances all too commonplace – follow and become like Jesus Christ? How can we be like Christ always – not just on Sundays when we’re on our best behavior, surrounded by others to cheer and sustain us? How can we be like him not as a pose or by a constant grinding effort, but with the ease and power he had – flowing from the inner depths, acting with quiet force from the innermost mind and soul of the Christ who has become a real part of us? There is no question that we are called to this. It is our vocation as well as our greatest good. . . . . From The Spirit of the Disciplines: Understanding How God Changes Lives. We hope that you will join us for 9:30 Sunday school this year! We will be learning how to "dethrone money" to live as generous and Christ-like stewards, how to love our enemies (and those who annoy us), how to halt harmful speech and become those who bless, how to more deeply engage with God... and the list goes on! This is a time of learning and group practice, when we intentionally come before Jesus as our Teacher, Savior, Lord and Friend. You are welcome!
That feeling of opportunity and hope that we often feel when we celebrate New Year's day is actually available to us all the time in Christ. "Though outwardly we are wasting away, in our spirits we are being continually renewed" (2 Cor 4:16). How is the new life of the kingdom growing in you and how will you be seeking continual renewal in 2019?
WANT TO READ WITH US?? We are meeting SUNDAY AT 4:00 to discuss the first 3 chapters of our new book, *Glittering Vices: A New Look at the Seven Deadly Sins and Their Remedies*. The Trinity Church chapter of the Renovare Book Club has a primary objective of helping its members live more fully and freely under the reign of God. Therefore, we seek to read things that are not so much "comfortable," as challenging. We enter each time of reading and each gathering with our group as meeting places with God, and as opportunities to "be renewed by the transforming of our minds" under the direction of the Spirit.
Helpful words as we continue learning how to discern when and how God is leading us to witness. Today we wrapped up chapter 12 in our Sunday school book and will begin chapter 13 next Sunday.

Trinity Church of Greenville had a wonderful Holy Week and Easter weekend! Thank you to everyone who contributed or came to an event! Here is a "time-lapse" video of the Maundy Thursday painting and music service, taken by a church member. Enjoy!
What a blessing to celebrate with our brother and church member, Charles Pate at the unveiling of his sculpture today at Greenville's Cancer Survivors Park. His lion sheltering a child in its massive paws is an image that reminds viewers of the care and protection God gives each of us, his beloved children. The sculpture title "Fear Not" echoes the words of God throughout scripture. "Take courage".. "do not fear"..."I will never leave you nor forsake you." The Bible offers many illustrations to help remind us of God's attributes-- shepherd, hen, father, mother, gardener, lion, physician, shield, lamb and many more. Each is helpful to correct and shape our understanding of God. If you have felt God to be far off and unconcerned about you as an individual, we invite you to view the sculpture and picture yourself as the child and the lion as God. “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed." Rev. 5:5
